Children love decorating cookies at the holidays, but once the decorating is done the sugar high begins. I've included an example of a Christmas tree, but you can use any cookie cutters you have lying around. The only things that do not work well in the ZDough are paper, string, and other items that stick to it. When the decorating is complete your little ones can squish them up and roll them out again, and all without leaving a sink-full of dishes and the constant question, "Can I have another cookie??"

Fall is my favorite season, and recently I've been very inspired by all the play ideas on Pinterest that center around the joys of this season. Bringing a few new objects into your little one's open-ended play dough time could really spice things up! Think about adding googly eyes to the ZDough for a spooky monster-making activity or try cutting simple shapes out of foam sheets to make ZDough jack-o-lanterns! All the cutting, picking up, and placing will strengthen those little fingers and is sure to bring a smile to their faces (and yours!)

Everyone knows that play dough is a fun toy, but it can also be a wonderful medium for children to practice important skills. Try putting out some letter stamps with your ZDough the next time your little one sits down to play. Your child may just want to stamp away and that's okay! Play should not be a drill, but asking the occasional, "What's that letter you're stamping?" or "What if you stamped an "S" onto your snake?" is a great way to extend your child's play.
